Hey, Digital Library Friends!
Being a school librarian can be a lonely gig. Most of the time, you’re a one person shop. If you’re lucky, you have a clerk or an aide, and If you're really lucky, you have another librarian in the building with you.
I’m really lucky. I’m in a K-8 school where we have an elementary and a secondary library. Our elementary librarian is one of my two best friends at work, and when your work wife needs a resource on the fly, you make it for her!
We were commiserating as we often do and she mentioned that she was having trouble getting her 2nd and 3rd graders to understand the concept of books in a series. So, I offered to create a lesson for her, my first foray into elementary resources, Volumes in a Series. I even made a video lesson to go with it, because that's just what we do for each other. It made me realize I should reach out to you all and ask what you need.
Reach out to me at [email protected] and let me know what you are looking for. What problem can I help you solve?
Are you in the specials rotation or on a flexible schedule? Either way, I’ve got you covered.
If you have a special request, I’ll do my best to make it for you.
I’ve also started a Facebook group, which I invite you to join here. As I said, being a school librarian can be isolating, and I’d love to support you, my digital coworkers, however I can. I’d love for us to support each other!
Talk to you soon!
